The world knows the artists primarily by their work. The intimacy with the work, however, grows once the ‘person’ in the artist is unveiled. A practicing painter myself, I decided to pick up the camera, along with my paintbrush, and have been photographing my creative community – fellow artists and those who cross paths with them over the last sixteen years.A few years ago I embarked on photographing the Pakistan artists in their studios as well. Capturing this intimate world of the toils and tribulations of an artist and recording their silent conversations, I feel, a moment in history and a human idiosyncrasy is being recorded.
