The world knows the artists primarily by their work.
The intimacy with the work, however, grows once the ‘person’ in the artist is unveiled.
A practicing painter myself, I decided to pick up the camera, along with my paintbrush,
and have been photographing my creative community –
fellow artists and those who cross paths with them over the last sixteen years.
A few years ago I embarked on photographing the Pakistan artists in their studios as well.
Capturing this intimate world of the toils and tribulations of an artist and
recording their silent conversations, I feel, a moment in history and
a human idiosyncrasy is being recorded…
